Understand MMM Meeting Formats
Review the structure of the MMM Meetings to better understand how and when to contribute:
Participate in coordination calls
A large part of your job is participating in coordination calls. Discover more about these calls here:
Creative Director Coordination Calls
Maintain responsive communication
Check messages every morning and periodically throughout the day from sources such as ClickUp, Discord, or email. If suitable, ensure that you move discussions into relevant Discord channels to maintain transparency.
There are three main types of communication:
  • Coordination communications - Setting up all necessary variables for new and ongoing projects
  • Project management communications - Tracking the progress of new and ongoing projects
  • Design reviews communications - Providing feedback and advise on design iterations for projects
Know your points of contact
Know who you will be interacting with on a day-to-day basis, what they are responsible for, and how to contact them in relation to specific project needs.
Some frequent points of contact are:
  • MMM Ops
  • Marketing Director
  • Brand and Marketing Strategist
  • Grants Stack Marketing Strategist
  • Design Team
  • Content Team

Know each designer’s strengths and workload
You will need to understand each designer’s strengths and workload in order to assign them to the right projects, understand their needs, and connect them to the right resources.
  • Talents: Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. Get to know which designers are strongest in different areas, such as typography, stop motion, UX and UI, etc.
  • Workload: Keep up-to-date in ClickUp to see the present workload of each designer. The Brand and Design ClickUp can be found here:
Create a personal ClickUp task list
The Creative Director is often assigned tasks by the Marketing Director and Design Ops. In ClickUp, there is an option to create a personal task list. Place your day to day tasks in ClickUp for additional transparency and accountability.
Develop skills and stay informed on industry trends
Stay up-to-date with developments in Web 3 and consistently improve your design abilities and expertise. Share your findings and insights with your team to encourage growth and enhancement.
Some examples are of areas that are important to understand and maintain:
  • Branding: How to translate brand in a product. Brand is more than visuals and aesthetics. It is a narrative that is agreed upon as a community and reflected back to them visually. It is very important to an organization’s culture.
  • Product Design: The details of what goes into product design so you can better assist designers.
  • UI/UX refinement and accessibility considerations:
    • Translating desktop to mobile, including mobile phones with low connectivity.
    • Understanding importance of visual polish and UI refinement, especially in Web3. It’s important for it to be streamlined, interesting, and accessible.
    • Awareness of common design problems (e.g., light grey or stark black on a white background often causes eye strain)
Maintain brand guidelines and style guide
Ensure the integrity, quality, and consistency of the visual identity across all projects. Update and refine the brand style guide as needed. Communicate brand guidelines and expectations to the design team and other stakeholders.
